Crown and root system:  This is a an impressive evergreen shade tree with an extensive but non-invasive root system.

Ripening date:  Beginning of winter.

Planting in a container:  Not possible.

Recommended planting season:  All year round.

Varieties sold in our nursery:

Beaumont:  Yields Macadamia nuts from a relatively young age and maintains high and steady harvest levels.  The nuts have a high oil percentage and a full nut content.
14/14:  Yields nuts with a high oil percentage and a full nut content.  Its shell is relatively easy to crack.

Good to know:
The Macadamia originates from Australia.  The nut is named for John Macadam, a Scottish physician and chemist who worked hard in order to promote the eating of these nuts in Australia.
