Botanical name: Dimocarpus longan
Crown and root system: This is an evergreen tree with a medium-large crown; the trunk has a unique texture.
Growing regions: Areas that do not have extreme climate conditions – hot or cold.
Ripening date: During the fall season. The flavor and texture of the fruit is similar to the lychee, but the longan’s pit is larger and the peel is thin and golden-brown.
Planting in a container: Not recommended.
Recommended planting season: All year round, except for the cold months.

H4: This variety ripens at the beginning of the season and bears medium fruit with a high sugar content and medium-sized pit.
Good to know:
In Asia the longan is known as “dragon’s eye” because the black seed showing through the whitish flesh of the fruit resemble an eyeball.
