Crown and root system: This is a conditional deciduous shade tree with an extensive and non-aggressive root system.
Growing regions: Areas where there is no chance of frost.
Fruit and ripening date: The fruit ripens during the summer months. The fruit is pod-like with seeds inside that can be crushed to produce a sweet-sour pulp that is considered to be the basis of Asiatic cuisine. The tree cannot easily yield fruit in Israel’s growing conditions.
Planting in a container: Cannot be planted in a container.
Recommended planting season: All year round.
